DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT
The course is aimed at students and professionals in archaeology and physical anthropology who are part of fieldwork teams and who are interested in extracting as much information as possible from the burials that appear in archaeological works. The premise "All the information on the type of burial, funerary practice, the position of the body, the use or not of funerary structures, which is not extracted directly in the excavation, is impossible to recover in the laboratory", is the maxim of this course, with large doses of practical teachings, accumulated by the teachers of the course, during more than 30 years of experience in numerous national and foreign projects.
Knowledge of the different legislations, ethics in the study of human remains, respect for the culture of groups related to the populations studied, will be very important points in this course. We will review the different methods of calculating the Minimum Number of Individuals, the way to approach a field study, the use of specific Field Anthropology cards and the use of specific software in this important branch of Anthropology.
