COURSE DESCRIPTION
First Week. 1-6 August 2022
The theoretical classes will be focused on the knowledge of Physical and Field Anthropology, with special attention to Funerary Archaeology and everything necessary to carry out a good excavation of human skeletal remains.
This is not just another "pay to excavate" proposal. It is a practical and theoretical course, directed by university professors, with specific themes in each of the four weeks, aimed at those who want to delve into the practical excavation of a necropolis and the analysis of human skeletal remains.
Second and Third Week.
8-13 August 2022
15-20 August 2022
The second and third weeks will focus on Palaeopathology, with theoretical classes in the afternoons, but with an eminent practical load in the form of cases studied by the course lecturers. There will also be classes related to Forensic Anthropology and Criminalistics, taught by university professors who are part of our teaching staff.
Fourth Week.
22-27 August 2022
In the fourth week, classes will be devoted to the study of the processes of Egyptian Mummification and the Palaeopathology of Mummies, with the knowledge gathered by the course lecturers during their 20 years of experience in international projects in Egypt.
Students who choose the one-week mode will select the one they consider most interesting according to the theme of each weekly section.
The chosen week will be specified on the registration form.
